Why bother becoming closer to God, my life is good enough as it is? This seems to be the question of many, but thinking of only yourself is not what the Kingdom of God is about.
Think of the others, who are not as fortunate as you. As you read on you will discover that part of coming closer to God is
bringing happiness to others as well as yourself. On a self-centered note, however, as you become closer to God and
enter more into His Kingdom it is guarenteed that you will lead a happier life. In addition, many people do not realize
that your emotions can be put onto a scale, like the one below.
You will notice the peaks, everyone has various peaks throught their day, some are more drastic than others and
some last longer than others. You will also notice that there is one level that is always returned to. This is your
"average" emotional status. It is how you feel when there are no peaks. If you have a low "average" then returning to
just your "average" off of a high peak can be depressing. By improving your relationship with God and entering more
into the Kingdom of God your "average" is guarenteed to rise, thus you will not only be happier, but you will happy more often.
